Gig Young (Byron Elsworth Barr) was an Academy Award-winning American film and television actor.

He took the name "Gig Young" from the character he played in "The Gay Sisters." His films include "Game of Death," "Young at Heart," "The Hindenburg," "The Elite Killer," and "They Shoot Horses, Don't They." His work on television includes "The Rogues."

Death: October 19, 1978 (age 64)

Three weeks after his marriage to Kim Schmidt, the couple was found dead at home in their Manhattan apartment. Police theorized that Young first shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide.
