George Campbell Scott was an American stage and film actor,
director, and producer. He was best known for his Academy Award-winning
portrayal of General George S. Patton Jr. in the film Patton, as
well as for his flamboyant performance as General Buck Turgidson in
Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove.
Scott died on September 22, 1999 at the age of 71 from a ruptured
abdominal aortic aneurysm in Westlake Village, California.
