Cheese Puffs
Makes 1 dozen puffs

Ingredients

• 1 cup grated American cheese

• 1/2 cup vegetable shortening

• 1 cup flour

• 1 teaspoon baking powder

• 1 egg, lightly beaten

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

1. In a medium-mixing bowl, mix cheese, shortening, flour, baking powder, egg, salt and cayenne.
2. On a floured board, roll into a thin dough.  Cut into 1 x 2 inch strips and place on a greased cookie sheet.  
3. Bake for 5 minutes.
