Carole’s Swiss Steak
Makes 4 to 6 servings
Prep Time: 15 min.
Cooking Time: LOW f8 to 10 hrs. or HIGH 3 to 5 hrs.
Ingredients:
- 3 - 4 - Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 - teaspoon salt
- 1/4 - teaspoon pepper
- 1-1/2 - teaspoons dry mustard
- 1-1/2 - 2 - pounds round steak
- Oil
- 1 - cup onions, sliced
- 1 - pound carrots
- 1 - can (14-1/2-ounces) whole tomatoes
- 1 - Tablespoon brown sugar
- 1-1/2 - Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Directions:
- In a medium mixing bowl, you want to
combine flour, salt, and dry mustard.
- Cut stead into serving pieces. Dredge
both sides in flour mixture.
- In a skillet, brown steak on both sides
in oil. Place in slow cooker.
- In the slow cooker, add onions and
carrots.
- In a small bowl, mix tomatoes, brown
sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour into slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10
hours or HIGH for 3 to 5 hours.
