- 1 - pound Premium
Regular Smoked Bacon
- 2 - large Very Firm
- 1/4 - cup Plum Sauce
- 8 - slices Whole Grain
Bread (or 4 good quality Sandwich Rolls)
- 1/2 - cup Honey
- 1/2 - cup Gorgonzola
Spread (e.g. Kaukauna) *Crumbled Gorgonzola cheese may
be used if the spread is not available.
- 1/2 - cup Chopped
- 1/2 - cup Sliced Red
- 1 - cup Mixed Greens
- In a skillet over
medium-high heat, cook the bacon strips until very
crisp. Set aside on paper towels to drain.
- Core the pear and
slice into 8 equally thick slices.
- Brush the pear slices
with plum sauce and place on a heated grill for 3
minutes per side.
- On 4 slices of bread,
spread the honey mustard.
- Spread the Gorgonzola
on the remaining 4 slices of bread.
- Sprinkle the chopped
pecans on the Gorgonzola spread.
- Place 2 slices of the
grilled pear on each sandwich.
- Layer with the crisp
bacon, red onion slices and mixed greens.
- Join the two sides of
each sandwich together, slice and serve.
