Open-Faced Shredded Flank Steak Sandwich

Slow Cooker Recipes from AlansKitchen.comMakes 4 servings

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: LOW 8 to 10 hrs. or HIGH 5 hrs.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (1 pound) - beef flank steak

  • 1 - small onion, sliced

  • 1 - cup sliced mushrooms

  • 1 - medium tomato, chopped

  • 1/2 - cup barbecue sauce

  • 2 - teaspoons Italian seasoning

  • 2 - sandwich buns, split

Directions:

  1. In the slow cooker, add the steak.  Then top with onions, mushrooms and tomatoes. 

  2. In a small bowl, mix the barbecue sauce and Italian seasoning.  Then pour over steak and vegetables.

  3. Cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH for 5 hours. Remove steak from slow cooker and shred with fork.  Return steak to slow cooker and gently stir to evenly coat with sauce.  Place 1 bun half on each serving plate and top with 1/4 of the steak mixture.
