Green Tomatillo Sauce
Makes 2 to 2-1/2 - cups.

Ingredients

1 - can (11-ounces) Tomatillo, drained

1/2 - cup white onion, diced

2 - garlic cloves, minced

2 or 3 - green chiles, minced with seeds

1/4 - cup cilantro, chopped

2 - tablespoons sugar

1/2 - teaspoon salt

Directions

  • In a saucepan and medium-low heat, combine the Tomatillo, onion, garlic, and chiles.  Simmer for 3 minutes or until the Tomatillo is soft.
  • You also want it to keep its color.
  • Add the sugar and salt.
  • Pour into a blender or food processor.  Puree ingredients until smooth.  Now, add the cilantro and serve.

Picnicking & Tailgating

You want to place sauce in a thermal container to keep hot.  At the picnic or tailgate site, pour and allow everyone to dip with chips and as a topping for many foods.
