& Onion Salad
another recipe from my Pennsylvania German heritage. I made it for Thanksgiving one year
and my friend Debbie loved it. Every time she came over I had to make it.
Makes 6 to 8 servings:
Prep Time: 15
Chill Time: Overnight
a glass bowl, you want to layer the cucumbers and onions.
another glass bowl, mix water, sugar and vinegar.
Stir sugar until dissolved into the mixture.
Pour over cucumbers and onions.
Cover glass bowl and chill in refrigerator overnight.
& Tailgating Tips:
You need to do this recipe a day or two in advance.
For picnicking or tailgating, I would put the onions and cucumbers
in a large jar. Then when you
are ready to load the ice chest, place the jar in there.
When you get to the picnic or tailgate site, pour into small paper
bowls and use as a salad.
