From Richwood, West Virginia, travel one mile
east on State Route 39/55, then 4 1/2 miles north on
Forest Road 76. Turn left onto Forest Road 752 and
travel 1/2 mile.
Formerly a Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) Camp,
this area on the Cranberry River is a popular picnic
site for reunions and family gatherings.
Large, open grassy areas between the picnic
shelters allows plenty of room for team sports. The
nearby Cranberry River is popular for swimming in
summer and trout fishing in spring. A valid West
Virginia State Fishing License is required, along
with a National Forest stamp and a trout stamp.

Resources for more information on fishing and
hunting licensing requirements.
The season is from April 15th through October
15th. Open daily from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Facilities include two large group picnic
shelters are available. Each shelter contains 6
picnic tables and large grills. Numerous picnic
tables and grills are dispersed throughout the
picnic area. Six accessible vault toilets and two
hand pumps for water are available.
There are no fees for use of the picnic area.
Picnic sites are on a first come, first served
basis. Camping is prohibited in the picnic area.
Cranberry River adjacent to the picnic area has
special fishing regulations posted. It is a class
Q/handicapped and children's fishing area.
