Granite Basin Lake Recreation Area

Granite Basin Lake Recreation Area is located 8.5-9 miles northwest of Prescott on the Bradshaw Ranger District. The rugged, boulder strewn cliffs of the 9,000 acre Granite Mountain Wilderness provide a scenic setting for this area among ponderosa pines.

Granite Basin Lake is man-made and about 5 surface acres. It is not stocked with fish. Although fishing is usually rated as only fair to poor, the patient angler can often catch bluegill, largemouth bass, or catfish.

A State of Arizona fishing license is required for anglers over the age of 13 years.

Boats powered by electric motors and oars/paddles are allowed. Swimming is not permitted.

Parking
for RVs and camping trailers is difficult. There are no utility hookups.

Elevation: 5,600 feet
