Spiced Cherries
Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 3 or 4-1/2 pint jars.


  • 1 - quart sour cherries, pitted
  • 1 - cup vinegar
  • 4 - cups sugar
  • 1/2 - Tablespoon cloves
  • 1/2 - Tablespoon cinnamon


  1. In a saucepan at low heat, put in the cherries.
  2. Add the Vinegar and sugar.
  3. Cook for 1 hour, frequently stirring.
  4. After 30 minutes, add the cloves and cinnamon and continue to cook.
  5. Pour into heated jars.
