Quince Honey
Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 4 (1/2 pint) jars


  • 4 - large quince, peeled and chopped

  • 4 - cups water

  • 4 - cups sugar

  • 3 - Tablespoons lemon juice


  1. In a saucepan at low moderate low heat, place the quinces with water. 

  2. Stir until mixture boils. 

  3. Add sugar and simmer 20 minutes. 

  4. Add lemon juice and increase heat to moderate-high heat. 

  5. Cook for 10 minutes longer or until syrup is clear and threads when dropped from a spoon.
