Clam Soup

Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 4 servings


  • 25 - clams and their liquid
  • 3 - cups water
  • 3 - cups milk
  • 1 - Tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 - teaspoon pepper


  • In a saucepan at moderate heat, add the clams with liquid and water. 
  • Simmer for 10 minutes. 
  • In another saucepan, slowly heat the milk. 
  • Add the butter, salt and pepper. 
  • When hot, slowly add to the clam brother. 
  • Simmer for 10 minutes, and stir occasionally.
