Fried Chicken II

    1. Rub the chicken dry. 

    2. In a mixing bowl, combine the egg, cream, salt, baking powder, and flour to make a batter. 

    3. Dip the chicken pieces into the batter. 

    4. Reserve any leftover batter.

    5. In a skillet at moderate heat, add the butter and melt. 

    6. Take the dipped chicken pieces and add to the fry pan. 

    7. Cook 20 minutes or until light golden brown. 

    8. Reduce heat to low, cover, and steam chicken until thoroughly cooked and tender.

    9. Remove from skillet. 

    10. Thin any reserved flour with milk. 

    11. Add to the pan drippings and blend on low heat to make the gravy.
