1/2 - cup cocoa
1 - cup sugar
1/2 - cup boiling water
- 2 - cups sugar
- 1/2 - cup shortening
- 1 - egg
- 1 - cup milk
- 2 - cups flour
- 2 - teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 - teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Bake in pastry shell, using half
recipe for Plain Pastry.
Line pie dish with pastry and chill.
For the lower part of filling, add
boiling water to mixed sugar and cocoa. Use chocolate instead of
cocoa if you prefer.
Pour into pastry shell. Mix sugar, shortening, egg, milk,
flour, baking powder and salt for upper part as you would cake
batter and pour on top of chocolate mixture.
Bake about 35 minutes or until cake
part is done.
