No-Crust Beef Pie
Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 4 servings.


  • 2 - Tablespoons butter

  • 1 - onion, chopped

  • 1 - pound ground beef

  • 2 - cups mashed potatoes

  • 3/4 - cup beef stock

  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 - teaspoon pepper

  • 2 - eggs, beaten

  • 1 - Tablespoon parsley, minced


Preheat oven 425� F.

  1. In a frying pan at moderate heat, add butter and saut� the onion until tender and golden brown. 

  2. Remove and reserve the saut�ed onion. 

  3. In the same pan, add the ground beef and brown.

  4. In a mixing bowl, mix in the mashed potatoes, ground beef, and beef stock. 

  5. Add the salt, pepper, eggs, and parsley.

  6. Grease a baking dish and spoon in the ground beef mixture. 

  7. Bake for 1-hour. 

  8. You want it to be light and puffy.
