Snickerdoodle Cookies

4 dozen cookies

Baking Time: 10 min
Ingredients:
- 1
cup shortening
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2
eggs
- 2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2
teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1
teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Dusting
- 2
Tablespoons sugar
- 2
teaspoons cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream
shortening and sugar.
- Add eggs and beat well.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, cream
of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually stir into
creamed mixture.
- Chill dough 2 hours or more.
- Form into balls the size of walnuts.
- Roll each ball in a mixture of sugar
and cinnamon.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly
browned and soft.
