Aunt Sue's Feather Cake

Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 1 cake



Preheat oven to 350  F. Grease & flour 2 8-inch layer cake pans or 1 (9-inch) loaf pan.

  1. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt. 

  2. Cream butter with sugar. 

  3. Beat egg yolks lightly and stir in. 

  4. Sift in the flour mixture, alternating with milk. 

  5. Add vanilla, beat for 1 minute. 

  6. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. 

  7. Pour batter into pans.

  8. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, depending upon thickness. Cool and ice.
