1 - cup milk, scalded
1 - Tablespoon butter
1 - Tablespoon shortening
1 - Tablespoon sugar
1-1/2 - teaspoons salt
1 - package active dry yeast
2 - eggs, beaten
3 - cups all-purpose flour, sifted


Preheat oven to 375� F.

  • In a mixing bowl, pour in the milk and add the butter, shortening, sugar, and salt. 
  • Allow to cool. 
  • When lukewarm, add in the yeast. 
  • Mix ingredients and add the eggs. 
  • Gradually sift in the flour. 
  • You want to blend the ingredients well.
  • Pour batter into muffin pans, only half full. Let rise 1-hour or double in size. 
  • Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.
