Makes 12 cakes
2 - cups all-purpose flour, sifted
4 - teaspoons baking powder
2-1/2 - teaspoons sugar
1/2 - teaspoon salt
1/4 - cup butter, softened
2 - eggs, beaten
1/2 - cup milk
Preheat oven to 400° F. and grease baking sheet. Or use greased
In a bowl, sift flour twice and then
sift the flour, baking, sugar, and salt together.
Cut in the butter,
and add the eggs and milk.
On floured board, roll out dough 3/4-inch thickness.
Cut in rounds, brush with milk and sprinkle with a little
baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or on top of stove on greased
griddle, bake slowly as to avoid burning. Turn once.
