Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 30 cakes


  • 2 - cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 2 - teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 - teaspoon salt
  • 3 - eggs (separated yolks and whites)
  • 2 - cups milk
  • 1/2 - cup butter, melted


  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 
  2. Beat the egg yolks and add to the flour mixture with the milk, and butter. 
  3. Beat egg whites and fold into the batter.
  4. Pour batter on greased hot griddle and cook until golden brown. 
  5. Turn once.
