Spring Flower

Picnic & Tailgate Menu Ideas from AlansKitchen.comWere to find the right recipes and a great place to have those special spring time retreats.

Old Time Vegetable Soup
This is one of my favorite soup recipes.  It is especially good with a slight chill in the air.  Combine: beef shank cuts, water, bay leaves, peppercorns, potatoes, carrots, celery, green beans, cabbage, onion, corn, peas, tomatoes, salt, marjoram, and thyme.

Aunt Dot's Italian Chicken
This is a real good chicken picnic recipe treat.  It is above all excellent severed cold.  Begin with boneless skinless chicken breast, condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, Italian style bread crumbs, and oil.

Celery Sticks
For a delight, use the celery hearts.  These tender celery sticks are great for dipping.

Apple Crumb Pie
What is more tradition than apple pie?  Here is a crumb pie using apples.  Ingredients for the Pie Crust include: flour, salt, sugar, butter, egg yolk, lemon juice and ice water. For the Filling: cooking apples, lemon juice, sugar, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground mace and butter.

Mix fruit juice with red wine and a little brandy.  In this Sangria recipe we include: sugar, lime juice, orange juice, red wine, brandy,  sparking water, fresh lime, fresh lemon, fresh orange, apple, and fresh mint sprigs.
