Flank Steak Deluxe

Makes 4 to 6 servings

Prep Time: 20 min
Cooking Time: 15 min


  • 1   medium onion, chipped
  • 2   Tablespoons butter
  • 1   medium flank steak, sliced on the bias into 1/2-inch strips
  •     Flour
  • 1   teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1   Tablespoon vinegar
  • 1   teaspoon salt
  • 1   teaspoon paprika
  •      Pinch cayenne
  • 2   cups water


  1. In a heavy skillet, sauté the onion in the butter.
  2. Dredge the steak slices with flour, fry them quickly in the heavy skillet, remove and set aside.
  3. To the heavy skillet, add 1 Tablespoon flour, dry mustard, vinegar, salt, paprika, and cayenne.
  4. Stir, add the water and stir again.
  5. Add the meat slices to the sauce, cover, and simmer about 15 minutes.
