Spaghetti with Butter
Makes 6 servings.

Ingredients

4 - quarts water, boiling

1 - teaspoon salt

1 - pound spaghetti

6 - tablespoons butter

2/3 - cup parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

  • In a large pot, have the water at rolling boil.  Add the salt.

  • Put spaghetti in whole; it will sink slowly into the water.

  • When it is almost down, give it a good while in the water to make sure all the strands are separated.

  • Cook 15 minutes and stir again.  Then test for doneness.

  • Drain spaghetti in colander and run cold water through spaghetti briefly.  Drain again and return to pot.

  • Put over low heat to evaporate any remaining water.

  • Add the butter and Parmesan cheese and toss.

Picnicking & Tailgating

Cook the spaghetti just before leaving and store in another heated thermal container.  When at the picnic site, serve the spaghetti with butter.
