Ingredients
8 - ounces Linguine,
uncooked
2 - Tablespoon butter
or margarine
1 - cup ham or
prosciutto, chopped
3 - cup fresh
mushrooms, thinly sliced
1-1/2 - cup light
cream
1 - package (10-ounces)
frozen peas, thawed
1/2 - cup grated
Romano or Parmesan cheese
Grated Romano or
Parmesan cheese (garnish)
Directions
You
want to cook your pasta according to package
directions and then drain.
- For now, in large
skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
- First, add the ham
and mushrooms and cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until
tender. Now, add the light cream. You need to heat
to boiling and then reduce the heat.
- Then cook for 6
minutes or until you reduce the liquid by half and
add the peas. Toss with hot pasta and Romano cheese.
Garnish with additional cheese.
Picnicking &
Tailgating
Prepare the sauce a day or two ahead.
Reheat in microwave and pour into a thermos to keep hot.
Prepare the noodles the day of the picnic or tailgate party. Then place in hot thermal container to keep hot.
At your site, just put the sauce and spaghetti together.
Just put the grate
cheese in a plastic container and into the ice chest to keep chilled.
Sprinkle over the spaghetti when ready to chow down.
