Linguine Romano
Makes 6 (1 cup) servings

Prep time: 5 min.
Cook time: 15 min.

Ingredients

8 - ounces Linguine, uncooked
2 - Tablespoon butter or margarine
1 - cup ham or prosciutto, chopped
3 - cup fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
1-1/2 - cup light cream
1 - package (10-ounces) frozen peas, thawed
1/2 - cup grated Romano or Parmesan cheese
Grated Romano or Parmesan cheese (garnish)

Directions

You want to cook your pasta according to package directions and then drain.

  • For now, in large skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
  • First, add the ham and mushrooms and cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender. Now, add the light cream. You need to heat to boiling and then reduce the heat.
  • Then cook for 6 minutes or until you reduce the liquid by half and add the peas. Toss with hot pasta and Romano cheese. Garnish with additional cheese.

Picnicking & Tailgating

Prepare the sauce a day or two ahead.  Reheat in microwave and pour into a thermos to keep hot.  Prepare the noodles the day of the picnic or tailgate party.  Then place in hot thermal container to keep hot.  At your site, just put the sauce and spaghetti together.

Just put the grate cheese in a plastic container and into the ice chest to keep chilled.  Sprinkle over the spaghetti when ready to chow down.
