Marbled Brownies

Double fudge brownies swirled with craftily functional ribbons of cream cheese.


Prep Time: 15 min.
Baking Time: 36 to 39 min.
Chill Time: 2 hrs.

  • 1 - package double fudge brownie mix
  • 1 - package (3 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 - Tablespoon butter or margarine, softened
  • 3 - Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 - large egg
  • 1 - Tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 - teaspoon vanilla extract


Heat oven to 350� F.  Grease bottom of 8x8-inch pan.

  1. In medium mixing bowl, you need to add the cream cheese and butter.
  2. Beat until smooth.
  3. Now, stir in sugar, egg, flour and vanilla.
  4. Again, you will beat until smooth.
  5. Set aside.

Prepare brownie mix according to package directions for cake-like brownies.

  1. In prepared pan, you will spread half of the brownie batter. 
  2. Then spoon the cream cheese mixture over batter. 
  3. Now spoon a dollops of remaining brownie batter over top. 
  4. With a knife or spatula, you will swirl brownie and cream cheese batter together. 
  5. Bake for 36 to 39 minutes or until set. 
  6. Cool completely. 
  7. Chill 2 hours.
