All-American Favorite Fudge

Makes 9 dozen candies

Prep Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: 17 min.
Cooling Time: 2 hrs.

Ingredients:

•    4  cups sugar

• 1/2  cup butter

•    1  can (12-ounces) evaporated milk

•    2  package (12-ounces) real semi-sweet chocolate chips

•    1  jar (7-ounces) marshmallow crème

•    2  cups chopped walnuts

•    2  teaspoons vanilla

Directions:

1. In heavy 4-quart saucepan, mix sugar, butter and evaporated milk.  Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a full boil (7 to 10 minutes).  Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 228°F (5 to 7 minutes).

2. Remove from heat and gradually stir in chocolate chips until melted.  Stir in marshmallow crème until well blended.  Stir in nuts and vanilla.

3. Spread into lightly buttered 13x9-inch pan. Cool at room temperature about 2 hours.  Cut into 1-inch squares.  Store refrigerated.
