S'mores Toffee Almond Bars

Dessert Bars Recipes from AlansKitchen.comMakes about 3 dozen bars

Prep Time: 12 min.
Cooking Time: 5 min.
Baking Time: 10 min.

Ingredients:

  • 12 to 14  whole graham crackers
  • 3/4  cup Toffee Bits
  • 1/4  cup light corn syrup
  •    2  cups miniature marshmallows
  • 3/4  cup sliced almonds
  •    4  (1.55 oz. each) Milk Chocolate Bars, coarsely chopped OR 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300- degrees F. Arrange graham crackers to cover bottom of 15-1/2x10-1/2x1-inch jelly-roll pan.

  1. In a small, heavy saucepan, place toffee bits and corn syrup.  Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until toffee is melted (small bits of almond will remain).

  2. Immediately pour mixture over graham crackers, spreading to cover crackers as much as possible.

  3. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until toffee mixture is spreadable.

  4. Remove from oven and immediately spread toffee mixture to cover crackers.  Top with marshmallows and almonds.

  5. Return to oven and bake 3 to 5 minutes or until marshmallows begin to puff.

  6. Remove from oven; sprinkle surface with candy bar pieces or milk chocolate chips.

  7. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
