Southwest Bread Pudding
Makes 4 to 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 - quart water

1 - pound brown sugar

1 - stick cinnamon

1 - clove
-
1 - Tablespoon butter

6 - sliced toast, cubed

3 - cups apples, peeled and sliced

1 - cup raisins

1 - cup chopped nuts

1/2 - pound Monterey Jack cheese, sliced
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°F. Butter
casserole dish.
- Into the water, add sugar, cinnamon,
and clove.
- Boil down to a syrup.
- Layer casserole dish with toast.
- Top toast with 1-1/2 cups apples, sprinkle
with 1/2 cup raisins and 1/2 cup nuts, and lay on 1/4 pound of cheese.
- Repeat layer.
- Pour the syrup over the pudding and
bake for 30 minutes.
- Serve either hot or cold.
