Lynda’s Angel Food Cake

Cowboy Cooking Recipes from AlansKitchen.comMakes 8 to 10 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 - cups egg whites

  • 1 - teaspoon cream of tartar

  • 1 1/2 - cups sugar

  • 1/4 - teaspoon salt

  • 1 - teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 - cup all-purpose flour, sifted 5 times

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350° F.

  1. In a small bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and beat until stiff, but not dry.

  2. Gradually beat in sugar and salt. Add vanilla, then gradually fold in flour.

  3. Pour into a tube pan. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until top is nicely browned.
