Mr. Favorís Applesauce Cake

Baking Time: 1-1/2 hrs.


  • 3 - eggs

  • 1-1/2 - stick margarine, softened to room temperature

  • 2 - cups sugar

  • 3 - cups flour, sifted

  • 2 - cups cold applesauce, divided

  • 1 - large teaspoon baking soda ( add to 1 cup applesauce and set aside)

  • 1 -teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 -teaspoon cloves

  • 1 -teaspoon allspice

  • 2 - cups raisins

  • 1 - cup black walnuts

  • 1 - cup crushed pineapples

  • 1/2 - cup flaked coconut


Preheat oven to 325į F.  Grease and flour tube cake pan.

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix eggs, margarine, and sugar.  Add applesauce and baking soda mixture. Mix together.

  2. Add remaining applesauce with the cinnamon, cloves, and allspice. Mix.  Fold in raisins, walnuts, pineapple, and coconut.

  3. Pour into prepared cake pan.  Bake for 1-1/2 hours.
