Bessie the Cow's Buttermilk Pie

Makes 1 (9-inch) pie shell

Ingredients:

• 2      cups sugar
• 3      Tablespoons flour
• 1      cup buttermilk, divided
• 1/2   teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/8   teaspoon nutmeg
• 3      eggs, beaten
• 1/2   cup butter, melted
• 1      teaspoon vanilla
• 1      unbaked (9-inch) pie shell

Directions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, 1/2-cup buttermilk, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
2. Add eggs and 1/2-cup buttermilk. Mix.
3. Fold in butter and add vanilla.
4. Pour into pie shell and bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
