Frenchie McCormick's Chocolate Pie

Chilling Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients:

  • 2     squares (1-ounce) unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1     can (14-ounce) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1     envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 1/3  cup water
  • 1/2  teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1     cup (1/2-pint) heavy cream, whipped
  • 1     prepared chocolate or graham cracker pie crust (6-ounce)
  •        Additional whipped cream for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a heavy saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate with sweetened condensed milk .
  2. In a small saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over water in small saucepan. Let stand 1 minute.
  3. Stir over low heat until gelatin dissolves.
  4. Combine gelatin and chocolate mixture. Add vanilla. Cool to room temperature.
  5. Fold in whipped cream. Spread into crust.
  6. Chill for 3 hours or until set.
  7. Garnish with additional whipped cream.
