Flying A Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:Cowboy Cooking Recipes from

1 - cup vegetable shortening
1/2 - cup butter
1-1/3 - cups granulated sugar
1 - cup packed brown sugar
4 - eggs
1 - Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 - teaspoon lemon juice
2 - teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 - teaspoons salt
1 - teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 - cup rolled oats
3 - cups all-purpose flour
2 - packages (12 ozs.) semisweet chocolate chips
2 - cups chopped walnuts


Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.

1) In a large bowl, add shortening, butter, and sugars and beat for 5 minutes. Beat in eggs (1 at a time). Add vanilla and lemon juice.

2) In another bowl, combine baking soda, salt, cinnamon, oats, flour, chocolate chips, and walnuts.

3) Fold the two mixtures together. Spoon out dough, about 1 to 1-1/2 teaspoon size at a time, onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 16 to 18 minutes.

Makes 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
