- 4 - cups all-purpose
2 - teaspoons salt
1 - teaspoon baking soda
6 - Tablespoons shortening
2 - cups buttermilk
Preheat oven to 425° F. Grease cookie
In a mixing bowl, sift in the flour,
salt and baking powder. Next, cut in the shortening. Add the buttermilk.
Stir into a relatively stiff dough. Kneed slightly. On a floured board, roll the dough to
a 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut into biscuits. Place biscuits on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
