Cowboy Caramel Coffee

Makes 6 (3/4 cup each) servingsCowboy Cooking Recipes from

  • 6 - Tablespoon ground coffee, any variety
  • 1/2 - cup caramel ice cream topping
  • 4-1/2 - cups cold water
  • 3/4 - cup thawed Whipped Topping
  • 2 - Tablespoon chopped chocolate-covered toffee, if desired


  1. In filter in brew basket of coffee maker, you want to place your coffee. Pour topping into empty pot of coffee maker.

  2. Prepare coffee with cold water.  When brewing is complete, stir until well blended.

  3. Top each serving with a dollop of the whipped topping and chopped toffee, if desired.

In the American Revolution, a number of guerilla bands operated in Westchester County, New York, which marked the dividing line between the British and American forces.  These groups were made up of local farmhands who would ambush convoys and carry out raids on both sides. There were two separate groups: the "skinners" fought for the pro-independence side; the "cowboys" supported the British.
