Chili Bowl Recipes from AlansKitchen.comBloody Mary Chili
Makes 6 to 8 servings

Prep Time: 15 min.
Cooking Time: 1 hour


  • 2 - pounds coarsely ground chuck
  • 2 - medium onions, coarsely chopped
  • 1 - large bell pepper, coarsely chopped
  • 2 - cans (15-ounces) pinto beans
  • 3 to 4 - medium tomatoes, coarsely chopped
  • 2 - cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 - teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 - bottle Bloody Mary Mix
  1. In a large Dutch oven, brown meat with onions and green peppers until no longer pink. 
  2. Drain well and return to Dutch oven.
  3. Add pinto beans, tomatoes, garlic, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  4. Using half of Bloody Mary Mix, and cook over low heat for one hour stirring occasionally.
  5. Throughout cooking time add Bloody Mary Mix for desired flavor and consistency.

Picnicking & Tailgating

You can make the chili a day or two ahead of time.  Heat (on stove or in microwave) and pour into a thermos.  When you get to your picnic and tailgate party, it is nice and hot.
