Thick N Chunky Sour-Cream Chili Soup

Makes 8 servings Chili Recipes from AlansKitchen.com

Prep Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: 24 min.

Ingredients:

  •  12  ounces bulk Italian sausage or turkey Italian sausage*
  •    1  medium (1/2 cup) onion, chopped
  •    2  cups vegetable tomato juice
  •    1  can (14 1/2- to 16-ounce) diced chili tomatoes
  •    1  can (15- to 15 1/2-ounce) Mexican-style chili beans
  •    1  Tablespoon chili powder
  •    1  cup sour cream

Cooking Directions:

  1. In a 4-quart saucepan, combine sausage and onion.

  2. Cook over medium-high heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausage is browned.

  3. Add vegetable juice, tomatoes, beans and chili powder.

  4. Continue cooking for 1 to 2 minutes until mixture just comes to a boil.

  5. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, to blend flavors.

  6. Just before serving, gently swirl in sour cream.

*Substitute lean ground beef instead of Italian sausage for a traditional-style chili.
