Spoon
bread should be cooked, but soft when you serve it and soft enough to be
served with a spoon.
Prep Time: 10 min.
Baking Time: 35 min.
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat oven to
400 degrees
F.

Put
two cups milk in saucepan, stir in cornmeal and salt and bring to a
boil.

Cook until thickened.

Put
bacon drippings in 1-quart baking dish and put in the oven to heat baking
dish.

Mix remaining
cup of milk with eggs, baking powder, and 1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter.

Mix
mush and egg mixture, pour into hot dish and bake 30 to 35 minutes.

Serve at once.

Mom's recipe for spoon bread so I searched the Web.
I found yours and made it and I won't make "Mom's" recipe again
even if I find it again. My 8-year-old son declared it
to be "great".
