Classic Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 - cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 - teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 - teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 - teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 - cup margarine, softened
  • 3/4 - cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 - medium, ripe Bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
  • 1/4 - cup sour cream
  • 1 - teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 - cup chopped almonds or walnuts, toasted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F. and grease 9x5-inch baking pan with vegetable cooking spray.

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in medium bowl; set aside.
  2. Beat margarine and sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs.
  4. Beat in bananas, sour cream and vanilla until blended.
  5. Add in flour mixture; beat until just blended.
  6. Stir in nuts.
  7. Pour into baking pan.
  8. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
