Grilled 5 Spice Pork Spareribs
Grilled 5 Spice Pork SpareribsMakes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 - pounds Pork Spareribs
  • 32 - ounces Chicken Broth canned or fresh
  • 1 - Carrot cut in half
  • 1 - stalk Celery cut in half
  • 1/2 - Yellow Onion
  • 1-1/2 - Tablespoons fresh Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 - Tablespoon fresh Ginger grated
  • 1/4 - cup Yellow Onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 - cup Green Onion finely chopped
  • 3/4 - cup Ketchup
  • 3/4 - cup Honey
  • 1/2 - cup Soy Sauce
  • 1-1/2 - Tablespoons Orange Juice Concentrate thawed
  • 1 - Tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1-1/2 - Tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 3/4 - teaspoon Chinese 5 Spice Powder
  • 3/4 - teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 - teaspoon White Pepper

Directions

  1. Place ribs, chicken broth, carrot, celery, onion in stock pot.
  2. Cover ingredients with water and bring to a boil.
  3. Then reduce to a simmer and cook for 40 minutes.
  4. Remove ribs from pot and allow to cool.
  5. In a bowl, mix the remaining sauce ingredients thoroughly.

Preheat the grill.

  1. Coat ribs with sauce.
  2. Place ribs on grill.
  3. Cook on both sides, basting often.
  4. Grill ribs until char marks appear.

Serve.
