Ingredients

  • 2 - Tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1-1/2 - Tablespoons Lite Soy Sauce
  • 1 - Tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 - teaspoon fresh ginger, finely minced
  • 1/4 - teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 - cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1/4 - teaspoon fresh rosemary
  • 1 - dash crushed red peppers
  • black pepper
  • 1 - pound beef flank steak
  • 1/2 - cup uncooked brown or white rice
  • 1/4 - cup green onions, finely chopped

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine marinade ingredients (first 9 ingredients, vinegar - black pepper). 
  2. Marinate the flank steak in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight, turning occasionally. 
  3. In a small saucepan, cook rice according to directions on package, omitting any salt or fats. 

Preheat the grill. 

  1. Grill the flank steak for 4 to 8 minutes on each side, depending on the desired doneness. 
  2. Let the steak rest on a carving plate for 1 or 2 minutes. 
  3. Slice the steak on the bias. 
  4. Serve with rice tossed with green onions.

Alanís Kitchen Tip
Spoon rice mixture in center of serving platter and arrange beef slices around outer edges.
