Alexandra, Yavapai
County, Arizona
In June 1875,
Edmund 0. Peck and a few friends hunted the nearby hillside. They
discovered the Peck silver lode.
T.M, Alexander, a
Peck Partner, built a large store at a place he called Alexandra. The
town became known from Mrs. Alexander, who visited the mine
site.
During its heyday, it serviced a population of 500. The community
consists of 100 buildings that house a butcher shop, boot maker,
blacksmith, stables, whiskey distillery and a brewery.
By 1880, the mines
played out. That year’s census shows only 132 residents.

Nothing remains of the
ghost towns and Peck Mine. A mile east and below Alexandra is the

Alexandra.
